1. In a large saute pan over medium-high heat, add the olive oil and onions. 2. Cook the onions for about 5 minutes until they turn golden, then add the garlic and cook until the garlic begins to soften. Add the tomatoes, basil, stock and pepper and simmer for about 5 minutes for the flavors to blend. 3. Meanwhile, bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente, about 5 minutes. Drain. 4. Transfer the pasta to a warm bowl and serve with the sauce.
